I have noticed that my inner fairing has white residue on it, I am guessing it is from the charity bike wash I took her to. How do I clean this stuff off? I have tried rewashing it, but once it dries the white stuff comes back.
Not sure if the problem is residue or not but my inner fairing started fading. It had white showing through. I used Mothers back to black and the problem disapeared. It needs to be re done a couple of times during the year but it works.
I'm thinking may, just maybe you been having too much of a good time, and maybe you need to zip your pants before you ride...
I have a white residue in the button area of my passenger seat. I'm thinking mineral deposits from washing and riding and water settling in those depressions, on my bike, but I could be wrong.
I have taken it apart and repainted it with HD's flat black and it looks great. I should have done it a long time ago. Mine spends a lot of time in the sun when I am at work. That is the only reason that I can come up with for it to fade. But repainting is not that hard to do.
The paint is breaking down from the sun. If its not to far along the wipe on products work good for a while, but it will have to be repainted at some time down the road. If you use those products it may be harder to repaint due to contaminating the surface. or it may be what azhole said
