If you decide to do it yourself, you will not find a better support group than the guys on here, PhilMis a tremendous resource and help my confidence to do it myself and I have never torn any engine down past the heads before. If you take your time and have the tools to do the work you will be fine.

I am doing the same thing to my bike. Doing work myself. I know a very reliable head person. ( My brother) He is a Certified Harley mechanic. He ports/polishes and flows the heads. Just had mine done. PM Me if you are interested. Your price in in the ball park. I did not spend that much but did the labor myself. Also a thing you want to check on.
1. When they bore your cyclinders they need to compress them like when it is on the bike. Otherwise you run a chance that they will distort a bit if they bore without them being compressed. Just trying to help
