515's here, love'em. I'm 75" high. The Wide Glide bars just didnt do it for me.
Good luck!
Aclass- I was going to get the 515's after seeing your bike, but I called Wild1 and 2 guys told me they would be very much like my Wide Glide bars I already have on my Road Glide.....Said the grip angle would be the main difference but the pullback about the same. What are your thoughts? They look good on your bike.
I ended up buying a pair of 517's that are blemished (can't even tell!) for $65 under new price.
I felt like the height and pullback of the WG bars and 515's were about the same, but the absolute killer for me was the wrist position of the WG bar, it dropped off/down way too much to suit me. The 515's are wider, and the wrist position is pretty much horizontal. Also, I have a Clearview shield and I was unable to tilt the WG bars up any further b/c the mirror conflicted with the shield when you turned the wheel. With the additional width on the 515's, the windshield conflict is a no issue.
With the exception of the width, and wrist position, the 515's are somewhat similar to the WG bars I guess. Plus, it was nice to hide the wires in the 515's.
Still don't have a manual yet, but can anyone tell me how hard it is to replace the stock bars on an 08 RG? Don't want to go internal, just replace with WW 517's.
If I recall correctly, the 08's use the throttle by wire system that requires special, notched handlebars. Other than that, it's the same prcedure.
