Time again for a new pair of ridingboots. The HDs are not very comfortable. Suggestions?
I would do a search but it's still broke!
I've had a pair of HD harness boots (aka Dingos) for 12 years and have resoled them probably three times, needing another now. They're so comfortable I almost never ride without them, in hot or cold weather. I bought another pair on Ebay several years ago but haven't worn them much since the old ones are still going strong.
I wear a pair of Harley davidson Sidelight boots for riding. They are very comfortable on the bike but when we are sightseeing
and walking a lot they are not the best. http://www.menshoenet.com/88119_Harl...ide_Light.html
This is not where I purchased them. Bought them at a local Army surplus store for about $30.00 less.
When we are going to be off the bike and walking a lot I wear a pair of Converse Tactical boots. They are like putting on a
pair of sneakers from the first time you put them on. Extremely comfortable! But probably not as much ankle protection in a spill
as the HD's. http://www.copshoes.com/c-converse-b...-p-C-8875.html
Also purchased at the Army surplus store. But I have bought from Copshoes.com and gotten great service.
I've had a pair of Double H brand harness style boots for about a year now... they don't even look like I've worn them. I will say, it took about 2 months to break them in and ever since, they just get better. I have a feeling they will last me a very long time. Throw some thin insoles in if you get a set... they will make you very happy. They also come in a lot of different widths (I have wide feet so a lot of boots don't fit me very well)
BATES has boots just like this. I wore the same boot on the flight line in my Navy days, newer models have the zipper side and I'll probably buy a pair this year sometime. I buy at a little saftey shop in Washington NC called Tetterton's and the guy there gives them to me for $82, with or without steel toe. they're just like wearing a tennis shoe/walking shoe. I wear an 11 e/ee and am very satisfied.
