BOOTS
I too, put my HD boots in the closet after twice worn.
I get many pair of boots from Cavender's Boot City. Mostly cowboy type boots, but if its good enough for riding horse, its probably good enough for the bike.
The horse doo doo is slicker than any pavement or gravel you'll be putting your foot down on.

These are comfortable andthe zippers make them easy to put on and take off - a great feature for donning or doffing that rainsuit !
Soles have a good grip and the steel toes aren't so cumbersome so it's easy to work the brake and heel/toe shifter.

If money is not an object check our SIDI boots (full lengh), I am getting this because of quality and over all protection. I hate feeling the heat from the exhaust on my leg.
