Yea.. I didn't get ABS with mine and had a chance to.. $750.00 extra.. I said " I don't need no stinking ABS"..
Almost dropped my bike in a panic stop a month ago with rain and a diesel slick..
I run with a LE MC.. My road name was "Smooth".. Now they call me "Slider"..
Said it was a miracle I didn't go down.. sideways and all, both brakes locking up..
I do hear that there is an alternative to ABS for us that don't have them.. Here on the forum somewhere. Someone will know..
I am considering those.. Some kingd of pulser when you clamp down..
traction control systems makes a special banjo bolt that has a air chamber in it
that helps you from locking up the brakes the are $80.00 ea my bike would require
3 2 up front and 1 back has anyone installed this product yet and what kind of
performance did you get i am thinking about trying them out

I too think I'm a pretty good rider and driver of a car too. But I wouldn't buy a car without ABS... This subject is comparable to the Carb / fuel injection debate. For many years now you can't buy a car with a carb... any you wouldn't if you could. Same thing here... many dinosaurs out there. I for one would add ABS to either my Road King or Bagger if I could. I can't tell you how many times I've "been into the ABS" on the BMW. It's very reassuring to know in a panic situation that I have a chance once I get the bike upright.... Just my .02...
There's this gizmo: http://www.tcbbrakesystems.com/
Although everyone here seems to think it's worthless, the testimonialby Rogue has intrigued me. I'm going to buy it this spring and make a report.
ABS is not only a safty feature but I believe it will end up being a good extra comes time for you to sell your bike. Only 40% of 08 touring models will be available with the ABS option. The only way you are going to get ABS is to trade your bike in and get a 08 with ABS. The only question is how bad a hit would you have to take on the trade in at the stealer. You would be better off selling your bike when you are ready and making the ABS one of your options on the new bike.
