I had to cut mine, because I kept bouncing it all over my garage door. Cut it down to 31 inches (that's how long the antenna on my Toyota is) and it works just fine.

I bought the rubber one at auto zone. $4.99. Works great. Just screw it right on. Bob.

You can get an amplified antenna from Bikers Choice (in the accessories section) it fits behind the fairing, and works great.
