I have the HD Backrest on my SG and I just put the Mustang Regal seat on today, it fit fine with the backrest. I had to do a little adjusting to get the hold down screw in but once I did that she fit right on.
Just put the Mustang Ultra Tour saddle on my Standard. Next is gonna be the HD adjustable backrest....ordering from Chicago HD is 20% cheaper than dealership...$20 cheaper thanMustangs.
The HD ones I could never get adjusted far enough back, no matter what, they were always pushing me too far foward. Even tried jury-rigging the brackets by putting washers under the front mount point (to tilt the bracket back)
The HD adjustable, is VERY thick. Dunno if you carry someone on the back, but it seriously cramps passengers unless they are about 100 lbs. See RonH's photo above.
The HD non-adjustable, has 4 settings you can mount the bracket to the fender, (forward backward/angle) and about the same number vertical settings. While it does have a screw in the back to fine tune the angle, you use an allen wrench to do so. Its not something you can adjust while riding.
The Mustang, its easy to reach behind you and adjust the thumbscrew to set the angle. The pad also pivots with your back.
