I have changed out the bars on my last two RoadGlides. Not difficult, just take your time. The throttle by wire was a little bit of challenge on my last one since the wiring harness was about an inch to short to remove without taking the outer fairing off. Which is much more difficult than an eGlide. But all in all I would do it again in a heartbeat. For me it was my shoulders.
Called up the guys at Wild Ones, extremely helpful in recommending everything you need to swap bars and they also gave me some other options to consider.
I have an 05 RK Custom and am putting the Chubby 10'' apes from Wild Ones. They said I shouldnt have to swap any cables or wires, which is good
Curious, there is a stock chrome spoiler that tops the headlight bucket and covers the bar mount. I see guys who take this spoiler off and it looks damn good.. do I need to buy a whole new bucket? Maybe a RK Classic bucket? Whats the deal?
