Well I finally bought my first Harley. 99 RK with 22k on it. Bad new is she is a salvage bike and I need to get busy and be ready to ride in a month. Good news is all the damge is cosmetic. I have new tins on the way as well as a replacement saddle bag for the right side. Just need to start buying all the fun stuff!!
I just could not wait to start wrenching so this morning I pulled the front end and started to polish up the lower sliders. The Factory Tins got dented so I had to pull the forks anyway. I also pulled the mufflers and the rear bodywork so I could inspect everything. I will need to pull the rear tire when I put the replacement rear fender on and really clean it up! Might have to get a chrome pulley cover for in back!
Dent in the front fender, gas tank, right bag cracked, fork tins dented, Spot lights dented, mirrors gone, and air cleaner cover dented. That is about all the damge, so not to bad. The bike had an engine guard and bag guards that took most of the damge.
Shagnasty..I thought I found a chrome cover, I will have to double check and will post it if I find it again.
