I'm pretty sure I bought mine at NewEgg, but I don't see it there now. Look around; you should be able to find a better price. When you get it, download the latest drivers from Belkin.
You can verify that your computer is set up to the correct com portby checkingwhat port you arecurrently using. Go to your control panel andclick on"system", thenclick the "hardware" tabthen click on "divice manager". You will see a list of items that includes "ports (com & lpt)". You should see you divice and what port it is pluged into.Make sure that it matches what your SERT port configuration has. You can change your com port to match the one on your SERT or just move the divice to one that matches what you have configured in SERT. Hope this helps.
I did all that, thanks, I just need the speed of the SERT so I can set the port at the same speed, I am thinking I am going to have to get the belkin adadpter for it to ever work. I have a DYNEX now and it is sure is giving me a headache
Save yourself the headache find the Belkin, I went through 3 others before I found the Belkin. Best Buy here doesn't sell any adapters because they have so many problems. Also you are taken a chance the emc will lockup and it takes a digital tech to fix it.
Where are you "plugging in" on the bike? For an '08, it's the top plug under the left panel.
I have Mapped it befor, it is just that my Old PC with serial ports, went to the great geek shop in the sky. Mine is an 07 and the plug is on the right side under the side cover. I am getting the BELKIN adapter today
