Default Unrepairable Problem

My '07 Road Glide, under warranty, loses all power @ highway speeds, leaving me in some very dangerous situations. My H-D dealer has replaced ground wires, the ignition switch, and lastly, an oxygen sensor- which even I believe wouldn't cause total electronic failure. The 4th time I bring the bike in they decide to being Harley into the loop.
What is causing this total shutdown? How do I deal with my dealer and The Motor Company?
The last work order reads "Customer states that the bike stalls at highway speeds". This is B.S. It happens every 200-400 miles. Should I insist that they ride it longer? It's gonna get me or my wife killed. Advice anyone? This is the best bike H-D produces and I want to keep itand not get screwed.

Keep taking it back till they get er fixed....definetly a pain in the a**.....but what else can you do? I suppose you could ask if they'd just give you a new 08.....but we all know that will never happen.
Good Luck, hope everything works out!

You definitely need to check the Lemon Law in you state. Plus keep all you receipt everytime you take it in. Sooner or later lemon Law kicks in and you can make them take it back and give you a different one. Good Luck any way that it works out for you.

My 06 Ultra, now out of warranty, will die at any time. I've narrowed it down to the Run/Off switch. Whenever it starts to die I flip the switch to off and back to run and all is well for a while.I've taken the switch apart and burnished the contacts and it helps a while. Spraying with a good contact cleaner does just as much good. HD could never find the problem even having the bike for a few hundred miles. The worst time istaking off from a light/stop sign and making a turn and it wants to die.

No Lemon Law on motorcycles.
It is a recreation vehicle.

Bank angle sensor
Fuel delivery circuit
????

Take a loaner bike until they can find the problem.

Sadly Louisiana "Lemon Law" does not include motorcycles,
Louisiana Lemon Law
Louisiana provides the Lemon Law to protect consumers from purchasing lemons. The law also helps reimburse drivers for such a purchase.
Vehicles covered under the Louisiana Lemon Law include:[*]
Passenger motor vehicles sold in Louisiana.
[*]Passenger and commercial motor vehicles sold in Louisiana.[*]Personal watercrafts still under warranty on or after April 15, 1999, or sold in Louisiana.[*]All-terrain vehicles still under warranty on or after April 15, 1999, or sold in Louisiana.[*]Drive train and chassis of a motor home that is used for personal and not commercial uses still under warranty on or after April 15, 1999, or sold in Louisiana.

Vehicles not covered under the Lemon Law include: [*]Newly-leased vehicles[*]Demonstrator vehicles[*]Motorcycles[*]Mobile homes[*]RVs

Note that Louisiana also has the Redhibition Law. The Redhibition Law works the same as the Lemon Law, except it offers protection against both new and used vehicles.

"Redhibition Law" may apply: The Louisiana Redhibition Law provides that the dealer warrants to you that the vehicle sold is free from all redhibitory defects. A defect is considered to have a redhibitory defect when the vehicle is so substantially defective that you would not have bought it in the first place, had you known of its defects. The existence of the defect gives you the right to obtain a rescission of the sale and a refund of your money, including down payment, interest, and costs.

Hope you get satisfaction,

That bike would probably fall off my trailer at interstate speed. Asuming you have full coverage. HA!

I researched the lemon law and knew it didn'tapply to motorcycles. Thanks Ftboylust for the info. I'll contact my attorney about the redhibition law. Sadly, I traded my 15 anniversary fatboy- a great ride- for what was a great ride. Still love it, just gotta get it fixed.
