There's a good chance it's just assembly lube that's on the outer part of the O ring. It will weep out from heat and dry up after a while. If it don't, then you have a problem. Ron
What would you use to clean it, Dawn dish soap?
Your right,I really don't want them tearing my engine apart. The bike is getting a partial dyno done first. Should I wait on the weeping and clean it and see if it comes back first or just let them rip it apart? There is no oil pooling up anywhere, the tech just described it as sweating.
my 06 dyna did that the second day i owned it. it comes off but i left it on there too long so it left a partial "stain" but did fade away over time. I was told by a couple older harley enthusiest "ah hell thats nothing"and so i let it go. It was the furthest thing from my mind and never thought twice about it or had any other problems from it. I would wait it out, you have 2 years of warranty.
After cleaning mine up with Brake Kleen the oil has not come back in over 600 miles of hard riding. To those that are having this problem clean it up and see if it comes back, mine has not to date. Doc
