Word of advice, if you have the factory security system, turn your ignition switch on, then pull the maxi-fuse.

If you turn the switch off to do other work, turn it back on before you plug the maxi fuse back in.

If not, I've found that the siren (if so equipped) will go off and will not shut off until you cycle the ignition switch.

good advise...

here is the thing for me... it takes 1 second to remove it and put it back in, so why not just remove it..., depending on what you are doing, the half a second it takes, may be worth the money...

Takes 1 second to remove it and less than that to fork up a lot of $hit by not doing so. If you are lucky you will blow the fuse when you touch the right tool to the wrong thing but i have seen some sweet wire damage on 2 bikes that required a new harness because the owners thought that they were that good at what they do and they don't need to follow the book. Keep doing what your doing, the dealers depend on it and thank you for being you.

I've done lots of electrical work over the years and have collected some nice tools with welded spots, missing pieces, pitts etc. I find that I don't enjoy the electro=shock therapy nearly as much as I used to. Mebbe 20 seconds to pull the fuse vs many potential hours of repairs. Mobile arc welders unite!

My 2 cents: It's way too easy to pull and replug the Maxi-Fuse that it would be ridiculous not to.

10 seconds of time vs. potential for damage.

No brainer in my book.
