Default Questions about the StreetGlide

I am currently riding a 07 Lowrider but am seriously considering trading it in on a Streetglide. What do you guys think about the trade? I purchased the Lowrider for the simple fact that my wife wanted it, instead of the Streetglide but I am now beginning to have second thoughts. When I take of on the bike I typically ride 200-300 miles per weekend. Will the Streetglide be more comfortable on those long trip in the stock form? What are some differences that I should expect to notice between the two bikes? Any other info you might have about the trade or the bike would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Simple fact: Touring bikes are more comfortable on longer rides by design.

If you're going to be riding ~300'ish miles, any of the touring bikes will be more comfy than any Dyna on the road.

Ask my buddy Strich. He just traded in his '07 Street Bob for an '08 Street Glide. He went through the same debate with himself for months (while also spending buttloads of $$ trying to make the Bob more comfy, which didn't work out too well).

I have a '06 FLHXI, so I cannot comment on the 96" or 6 speed, but the ride is sweeeeeeet. The suspension is much more suited for 2-up riding. You will not believe the difference between the Dyna and the Street Glide. The lowered Air suspension has to be experienced to fully explain.

I went from a Dyna to the SG myself and have no regrets. I havethe Sundowner seat and the adj. passanger floorboard and the wife would NEVER go back to the Dyna, I bet yours wont either after she gets a does of the glide

The Street Glide is a great bike. I ride just about every model there is on a weekly basis after working on 'em. Cannot decide if my next bike will be a SG or a Road Glide. Overall I like the Touring models better than the rest of the models. I have had a Dyna, 2 Softails and my King. Buddy of mine said it best when I was considering what to get back in 03 when I bought the RK; "Once you get a Touring model, you will wonder why you rode anything else". Don't get me wrong, I have a blast on the Softails and Dynas, but there really isn't any comparison especially when you start talking about longer rides.

I went from a Wide Glide to the street glide and it is a huge difference!! Ride wise the SG is sooo much smoother and more comfortable it is really no contest. The only problem I have now it that I have to watch my speed....95 sneaks up on you awfully quick on the touring bikes.

The only people that have a question as to which bike to own, are the ones who haven't rode a touring bike yet. I suggest you get down to the dealer and try out a street glide. The questions will all be answered

I too will give you my 2 cents....from the Dyna to the StreetGlide are worlds of difference as most have said! The balance is better on the tour bike due from many years of engineering. Also the ride, practicality when going on a trip...and you'll want to make more trips on a tour bike. Just notice what you see going down the nations highways...the vast majority are tour bikes for a reason. I also will say the resale of a tour bike is some what better too! I also own a softail and will testify to the difference there as well! And last you can get more traveling items and accessories for tour bikes.
