I have the standard one and sometimes regret not spending the extra $$$ for the adjustable one. But it is what it is. I'm curious; for those of you that have the standard one, how did you bend the rods back to give you the ability to sit further back on the seat?

Curious too - but bending it sounds kinda permanent. I'm comfortable with mine, mounted as far back as possible, but it basically stands straight up. I do think I'm missing about an inch of my seat this way. (not sure that makes sense - been a long day)

I have the adjustable. The only negative is when it is all the way in the "reclined" position, it is pretty much straight up and down. I have absolutely no need to adjust it so it tilts forward. I would like to know how lerc 88 bent his to make more use out of the adjustability.

I bent mine in a vise and heated it up with a propane torch. If I had it to do over I would have bought the adjustable one.

When mounting it on the bike, Don't forget to add a couple of washers under the front tab of the backrest mount. It will help tilt it back. I also took my backrest pad apart and drilled another hole in the adjustable part to raise the pad up another inch. While I was there, I remembered seeing the other day where someone re contoured the bottom corner/edges of the pad to make more room for the passenger. I took off about 2 in. on the outside edge and contoured it back to the center post. Then, I stuck it back together and had the Wife try it out, before taking it to the local upholstery shop. She suggested I put a grab handle on it for stability on twisty's Yea, right.
