Thanks for the info! Since we have the same bike and paint , if you get a chance, I would love to see a picture of your bike w/ the hard bags on. Take it easy.

I'm no builder but on my RKC I took two 2"strips of 16 gauge steel, a pair of wide end flat vice grips, and a drimble tool (for notching the top end) and made some fillers that have the same curve as the saddle bags. I sprayed them with adhesive, covered them with black leather (from an old pair of chaps) and it looks pretty cool. They attach to the saddlebag supports on the top and bottom.
