I switched out my grips on my 08 RG today and the throttle seems like it turns MUCH easier than before. Only got out for a very short ride but it felt like it twisted so easy, I felt like I was riding a totally unfamiliar bike. Is there a way tostiffen the feedback in the FBW system? I did go to larger grips but I can't imagine they would make such a huge difference.
Any advice?
thanks
The grips are HD Chrome and Rubber collection, part # 56263-08, large diameter fits 08 touring models. I thought i read a previous post some time back that discussed the tension of the FBW....
Anyone?
Just put the same grips on last week. Yes they do feel a bit more free and "twitchier" than stock. I think mostly from the larger diameter and the better rubber of the grip. Not an issue, I feel and after a while you get used to it. Much better grip than stock, AND you will find out even more so when the weather gets hot. Stock grips always get gummy in heat.

Thanks mtb, I'll get out for a ride today and see how I adapt. It did take me a couple hundred miles to totally adapt to the FBW originally then I didn't even know it was there, will be the same with this I imagine...
I had the same grips on my 01, I really liked em and they held up way better than I thought they would. They were 4 or 5 years old when I traded my bike in and they were just barely starting to show wear.
I noticed the same thing! I used the "small" version of the same grip as you, and noticed that the throttle seemed easier to twist. I actually like the difference - feels "cleaner" somehow, despite that I didn't use any cleaner solution or anything - just swapped out the stockers for the accessory grips. I wonder if the barrel the for new grips is just *slightly* larger than the stock grips? It's not a bad feeling at all for me, but somehow the throttle seems more responsive. I'm liking the change...
