true duel or slip on
One of them has the V&H True Duals, the other is still feeding his from the factory H-D header pipes. While the True Duals and Ovals soundbetter, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference from a distance. You can tell the difference (if they the the factory header pipes) mostly from the drivers seat, you can hear less noise from the left side of the bike.
We alljust like the Rush (with 2" baffles) with the H-D Howitzer tips better. They have a deeper note to them and even my buddies now wish they had gone that route, and more than likely would have if they knew about them when they did the pipes on their bikes.
Also, the 2" Rush baffles let you hear a little sneezy sound when you are backing off the throttle. I understand that is caused by the gasses going out past the exhaust valves with very little combustion taking place. You hear that sound a lot on bikes with very loud and obnoxious drag pipes. I enjoy hearing it. It may not be a nostalgic sound, but to me it takes me back.
Oh, the Ovals are agreat looking pipe, too. Either way, neither set up is obnoxious and very pleasing to listen too.
that my preference, sounds good when properly motivated by the correct wrist action otherwise meek & mild if you really want noise go the thunder header route
