An apology isn't what's called for. If you can share a real example of an HD Touring bike with less than 100hp that can exceed 120mph on GPS, then I'll acknowledge that my opinion was wrong and that an HD Touring bike with 100hp can exceed 120mph GPS. It's as simple as that.H
It has nothing to do with anyone making false claims. When there's legitimate facts to share that refute a statement posted, then I'll stand ready to support the facts. It's really no more complex than that.
Wasn't asking for an a apology in reference to the 100hp to get 120mph claim. Was hoping the fellow that trashed people who claimed there was no overdrive in stock HD 6 speeds might step up....
Aww hell! When i make a new video showing gps speed of 122 your just gonna dispute the HP of my bike! I've decided I dont really give a F**K what you think and probably neither does anyone else on here. I would post a copy of the pink driving award i got last weekend for 120+ but i'm sure THPs radars arent accurate.
Well heck, you could just lay a gps device like a zumo in your TP and it'll record your top end speed and save it. I don't think a profane tirade makes your view any more believable...in fact less so IMO. Did I miss a post where you hit 120+mph on GPS with a touring bike having less than 100hp? If so, I stand ready to be corrected but I must have missed that post.
Stop worrying about what I think. If it matters to you and you can show your bike can reach over 120mph on GPS with less than 100hp then just go ahead and post it...or not...whatever works best for you.

Got it. Thanks for the clarification. I try my best not to trash anyone, particularly not fellow bikers even when I might disagree with their view.
Could you share a link to the article you're referencing? There's no online article I could find where Cycleworld road tested a stock 103 RG to 117mph.
I stand by the statement that your not going to get a touring HD to exceed 120mph (GPS) with less than 100hp. When you have an example, please feel free to share it.
Really that's how you say sorry for calling people's statements incorrect when u were in fact incorrect? I to believed my owners manual and dealer about something and made incorrect statements here but I actually owned up to them....
Why should I apologize? He trashed me. Go back and read it.

And I didn't trash them either, I asked for data, not articles on past models.
So Harley seems to spread out the gearing and keeps 6th a 1:1 gear. Okay, doesn't make sense, but they did it.

Why don't we start a thread for displaying our Dyno numbers and charts? We could call it Dyno Numbers For Baggers!
The only thing we would discuss in this thread would be Dyno numbers and the mods you made to get them. We could give other subjects, like maybe transmission gearing their own thread somewhere else.
So what do you guys think about my revolutionary idea?
The speed thing was derived from the dyno posts. I mean, people want to make more power so their bikes are faster right? At least that's why I do my upgrades. Oh wait, I forgot, most of the people here just build their bikes up so they can race them on a barstool.
Anyone that is into speed and has pushed their bike near it's limits would know that it doesn't take a touring HD over 100 HP to reach 120 MPH. I would venture to say, those that doubt it just build their bikes so they can brag about them and never really ride them to there potential anyways.
Apologies to those looking for data but here is the problem: Threads like this are nowhere NEAR their potential unless the OP provides a summary in the 1st few posts that is constantly updated. It's work. But side discussions will happen.
That is the only way to fully utilize it. That's how all the 1/4 timeslip databases are done in the automotive forums, the 60-130mph thread in 6speedonline, etc. That's it.

Exactly right HT. I was simply trying to relate speed to hp/tq numbers and the ability of the rider to get the most out of that HP. It got blown WAY out of proportion. I for one build mine to run the holy hell out of it!
