mp3 CD issue - still...
I'm SO glad that people are replying to this now. Is there anyone in the Milwaukee area that doesn't have this problem, that I could get a CD to - to see if it's a problem specific to SOME radios?)
If you want you can send them to dries@bessels.org

The 150 song mp3 cd didn't work. This is driving me insane.
In reiteration - the same disc plays fine in my mp3-enabled radio in my Jeep.
I've looked at encoding software, bit rates, stereo vs, joint stereo - you name it - I've looked into it.
Odd thing tonight was that different songs from the same cd, that was ripped at the same time - some work, some don't.
The service guy at my dealership looked at me like I was crazy today. He told me to contact the motor company - who's probably going to send me to Harmon Kardon - who's probably going to send me back to the dealership.
I refuse to give up.

You could check thedisc capacity? Discs come in 74,80 or 90 minute (650, 700 or 800Mb) versions and I know several devices have problems with 90 minute discs. Personally I do not use the 90minute CD's since they give too many problems.
There also is a huge quality difference between the different brands of discs, are the ones you use cheap no-names or a decent brand?
With audio CD's the disc can become low quality when burned at high speeds. MP3 discs are data discs so they should not suffer from high burn speeds but it might be worth trying.
As a last check I would try to find somebody with the same bike from the same year and try the disc on that machine, see if it shows the same problem.
If it does show the same problem it seems to be that the player cannot handle this type of discs. (different brand, capacity, burn speed).
If it does not show this problem I would say the player is bad and needs to be replaced.
Good luck!

I'd love to try mp3 checker - however - I'm a Mac user - so that's a no go.

My 08 Ultra doesn't have a problem with more than 150 songs....I've got a couple CDs that have around 180, and they all play.
I've never been able to burn any Itunes downloads to a disc. Always get a window telling me certain songs (from Itunes)will not burn. If you know a way around this please pm me with instructions.

It's very nice.
I've purchased tracks from Napster, but even purchased tracks can only be burned to CD a maximum of 5 (yes FIVE) times.
SCREW THAT! I bought the damn song. It's mine to do with what I want now. So I use TuneBite to completely strip all DRM so now I can burn it to as many CD's as I want and can put it on as many portable devices as I want without anymore DRM headaches.
Of course it (TuneBite) can be used for "other" purposes as well. /wink

It is based on the length of the songs. I have a CD that has 212 songs at 694MB total. 12 hours and 36 minutes in length.
