I have a 07 UC and want to connect my 2610 audio to the speakers. Instead of pluging into Aux Port in the front of the radio, I want a cleaner installation with the wires in the fairing. Does the 07 radio have a Aux input jack on the back of the radio?
If not, how would one add an optional auxillary input jack to the back of the radio and or behind the fairing?
There isn't a connector on the back of the radio. There is a way to do it, but it does require removing the headunit from the bike and the headunit from its case.
If you don't get a direct link from someone else, search "cvoharley.com" 'cause that's where the information comes from.
Item F. Adding an optional auxillary input jack to the back of the harley radio. The link to flhrsel.org routes you to a new server/web page. Performing a search there, I receive no hits on the installation procedures.
Thanks for the link... Loads of helpful info the the link u provided....
My friend, Kevin, pirateeye on HDF, did this mod to locate the aux port on the rear of his HK headunit for connecting his Zumo 550--it's only involved if you have never had your outer fairing off--he told me it seems complicated but isn't wants you gain access to the headunit.
These Radios give a fair amount of trouble and go "belly up" a lot. Before you start taking the radio apart just consider what it's going to do to your warrenty. This is a very high dollar piece so the dealer is going to look for any way to get out of replacing it under warrenty. JMO.
