tank and center console questions...
The tank that came on my bike back in the early 80's had the ugliest design of any Harley in history...some of you may remember it. \\;\\\\\\; It \\;\\\\\\;has this huge, Honda Goldwing-looking console in the center and the tank itself is almost flat looking on the sides rather than a clean fat-bob look. \\;\\\\\\; Needless to say I am changing it out to a late model FLHT tank with the center console with the fuel filler door only....the guages are not on the tank, they are in my fairing. \\;\\\\\\;
I bought a 1997 FLH tank and a center console (separately) from Ebay. \\;\\\\\\; The tank has a large oval opening at the top with bolt holes where a gasket goes, \\;\\\\\\;I believe. \\;\\\\\\; The console has a round opening where the fuel cap screws into, but I cannot find any hardware or instructions on how this whole assembly goes together or what I am missing.....other than the gasket for the oval, is there a plate that goes over the oval opening and then the console? \\;\\\\\\; I can't find any answers anywhere and was hoping some of you could go over the scematics on a FLH tank/console assembly.
Thanks in advance....

Oh yeah, \\; \\; that was some nasty looking stuff. \\; \\; I'd strip it right on down to the bare frame if I were you and start customizing it with some of those cool WCC parts to make it nicer looking. \\; \\; \\;Not that any of those parts are worth a darn, \\; but I'd be willing to give you a few bucks for them once you take them off. \\; \\;

Though the current tank is really ugly, it is in impecable shape....same color as your bike in the photo (cream and tan). \\; I also have the original carb and aircleaner assembly for sale as well, if you're interested....
Any other input on how this newer FLH tank and console goes together would be appreciated...
