Dawg, apparently several readers missed your excellent thread showing the parts and instruction on changing the parts before they looked at this poll thread...maybe you should have gotten their attention with a smartass comment or something! \\;
I need to talk to my dealer. \\; Can any of you tell me if your dealer proactively replaced it and what the dealer name/location is? \\; Just in case they give me ****, I'm going to call HD direct if need be.
Mine failed at 13,000
 \\;
Luckily, thanks to the forum, I caught it early. Bike was getting hard to start but ran fine was it did. Saw here on the forum to check by opening the fuel cap with the engine running. It looked like a driving rainstorm inside the tank. No telling how long it had been like that.
 \\;
Dealer fixed it under warranty.
Ok, what can I check to see if it's the newer one? \\; I have a trip planned this fall to ride out west (from Michigan) and I don't want to break down on the way (especially in Nebraska, that place scares the **** out of me).
Part # 62229-08a \\;\\\\\\;\\\\\\\\\\\\\\; filter shell. I replaced mine u don't need any thing else u can reuse everything else, orings and top plate seal ring
I thought you needed part # 61402-08A also? I didn't think you were supposed to reuse the screws because they had sealer on them?
 \\;
The top gasket is now a circular o-ring and looks like the new derby o-ring covers so it can be reused. \\; There is no longer 10 screws and a rectangular gasket like on the older models.
Mine broke at 4K, as I was merging onto the highway. \\; One of those "pucker" moments. \\; Dealer told me the part was backordered, but had me back on the road within 2 days.
