I guess I need to repeat for those that did not get it my first post:
 \\;
This is a DELPHI system. \\; Harley does not make it, they buy it from DELPHI and install it in your bike. \\; Fiel injectors, ECM, TBW setup, whole 9 yards.
 \\;
Now then\\; If DELPHI does not have a fix, that means MOCO don't have a fix.
 \\;
I have a hunch that it goes deeper than an ECM reflash. \\; Mark my words. \\; Many 08s do NOT have this problem, including mine.
 \\;
Talked to H-D yesterday. The CSR told me that the problem is caused by the ECM remembering the position of your throttle grip when turning the bike off. If the grip is past the neutral position the ECM will compensate for it. The reason for the neutral postion on the throttle is for the switch to turn the parade mode on or off. H-D said riders wanted this option. Now with the new reflash the ECM waits 7 seconds after the key \\;engine is shut off \\;to look at the position of the throttle grip. So if, for some reason you pull into a parking lot and shut your bike off and have your front brake sqeezed (my problem no doubt) it rolls the throttle forward past neutral postion. The ECM compensates and raises idle when you start it again. Now this should not happen because \\; it waits 7 seconds. So folks. this \\;is really a pain. I pulled over in a parking lot on a slight incline (we know they are all level) my passenger wanted to get off and I braced the bike with my \\;\\\\\\;feet planted \\;\\\\\\;and hand on front brake ( must have been with 7 seconds) \\;. Now when we pull over and stop make sure you don't EVER touch your throttle grip 7 seconds after you turn your ignition off. Don't ever hang a helmet on your handlebar! \\;\\\\\\; Now when it does idle up (if you have something to eat or take some time so it cools off) you will not know if it is high-idling because it high idles when the bike is cold normally. So in this cause you get to ride a mile or two and pull the entire group over into a parking lot so you can reset the computer again on your brand new 2008 Harley-Davidson Touring model. I love Harleys and love this bike. This is #7 Harley for me. Never saw anything as stupid as this engineering marvel. \\; It is the end of the model year. It took me three hours to see the problem and has happened 9 times in 800 miles. Doesn't Harley-Davidson test their new changes? \\; They need to remove the Parade mode switch from the throttle grip and put it somewhere else,. they need to recall these bikes and make 'em right!
