I just started a new project on an 06 FLHX after finishing my 07. I found a lowering kit on eBay from road6customs that sells for under $60.00 and I wanted to pass the information along to the forum members. I used an Arlen Ness kit on my 07 and there is a big price difference! I know this topic comes up often on here and maybe it will save somebody else some money. The shop that installed it for me was impressed with the quality of the product and mentioned that he will start stocking it at his place.

I put the same lowering kit (bottom of shock re-locator braket?) and it worked well until.. I put my wife on the back. Then every time we hit a bump the fender rode on the tire. If I ever get her own bike, I will put it back on. For now it sits in my tool box, taped and labeled.

how much air are you running in your shocks? Alot of guys say 20 to 50psi. you shouldnt have any issues with your wife on the back, check your air pressure in your shocks.
I put this kit on my 99 Ultra on the lowest setting, took a quick ride to check my work and bottomed out with just me on there. I weigh 230. I remember reading all the posts about shocks & pressure, so I went to the dealer and bought a pump. What I found, was the shocks had no air in them! I put in 25 psi and all was good.
This weekend I'm switching to SG stock shocks to run with the kit
Check your pressure!
I put one on my 07 ultra on the 2nd hole and bottomed out and cut my rear wiring harness. I weigh 175lbs and was riding alone, with 15psi in the shocks. I have not been able to bottom it out in the 1st hole.
If you raise the air pressure it may not bottom out. I am not going to take a chance since I had a problem with one of the air fittings and lost all the air once. Since my harness was pretty much destroyed I rerouted it on top of the fender along the tourpack mount and thru the fender in front of the license plate.
