I will add to my previous post.. I notice above the mention that the stock seat would not likely be comfortable for a passenger... As with most things, it really depends.. (in this case, on the passenger).

I was thinking for sure that I would need to change the seat out for my wife, but she actually LIKES the seat.. I added the regular height back rest, and hell.. she likes that too!

I would suggest you take in all of these comments and then promptly go to the dealer and sit on the bike to see how you feel (and also your passenger!)

When it is all said and done.. you will have a permanant grin on your face..

Enjoy the ride...

John

I have an 05 Custom, love the beach bars. I just moved to a Mustang solo with backrest. using fender bibb along Motherwell rack when needed. I have added crusie control, windshield, and passing ligths. I'm beginning think I should bought the classic and switched out the handle bars. All of these things are standard on the classic.

I also added baglocks, clock, and oil temp and gauge this past weekend.

It's a great ride!! People are always stopping and saying nice bike!

Have an 05 custom hated the bars went with extended reach road king and love those. Also added heated grips when I did the bars cant be happierwith the heat on my cold hands this time of year.I would change the seat for long rides , sundowner was my choice.

'06 Custom owner. I've had it for a month & have managed to get 400 miles on it between the sloppy NW weather. I love the bike. I'm 6'2" and am completely comfortable with the stock set-up. The bars probably don't offer the best possible low speed control of the bike, but they look excellent (fit the lines) and don't tire my arms whatsoever. Wife loves the stock seat, though she's used to the torturesome V-rod passenger pillion. My Custom is pearl yellow. I get so many looks and compliments with it - more than my V-rod. I really like the low & clean look of the bike. I've got the quick detach sissy bar & windshield and will only use them when absolutely necessary.

My only gripe is the exhaust (as with most new models). Weak. Plan on spending a grand on a new system once the bike is broken in. You'll add a much needed 10hp and the bike will sound like a Harley. A Supertrapp 2:1 is in my near future.

I removed my wind deflector because it "deflected" the wind right in my face, I'm 6'2" tall. I agree that the bars are uncomfy for someone taller than 6'. Or they were for me at least. As you can see I swapped mine out [8D]

I don't have a RK Custom, Just a Standard RK. But I rode a demo RKC once and the handle bars scard the hell out of me at High speed's 75+mph. It was probably just becuse I wasn't use to them. The beach bars reminded me of my old tricycle I had when I was three. I loved the beach bars then but not now. It's all ape hangers here...........

I love my custom but you will want to go with the sundowner seat for two up riding. The stock seat looks great and is fine for the rider but not much comfort for a passenger.
