Wassup if they are broken the windshield will shake back & forth about 3 inches while the bike idles, seems ok when under way. Thanks for your suggestions everyone. I will just fab up new ends with gussets and bolt onto the remains. no sense letting dealership get my blood pressure up.
Very common item that fails yet cheap compared to other things that could. Not saying that it would but alot of times the stress at that weak area is forced to go elsewhere for relief.
All of my brackets were broken, so I fixed them so it will never happen again,
The vertical brackets (black ones) were broken at the 90* bend ,so I broke out the TIG, and stuck the 2 pieces back together, and then I added a gusset to the top of the bracket on the top of the 90*.
The side brackets were broken just before the bracket that goes to the outside of the speakers, so I welded them back together with stainless rod to make them a little less brittle, then I welded a 1/8th inch rod across the welded joint about 3 inches back on the bigger part of the bracket, like a torque rod, so now even if it does snap the rod will hold it for a while.
