Thanks for pointing this out, as I never noticed it before. But this confuses me even more about the design of this product. The stiffness of the unit goes longituninally while the control requirement is lateral. Maybe UltraKla$$ic is right that we need a freaking mechanical engineer to pipe in here to clarify the design of this device. What I don't think is necessary is understanding the simplicity and efficiency of all the other devices on the market, especially the TWR and Ride Str8.

Now here's the thing; in my heart I prefer the design of the ridestr8 and the TWR but I have to admit I am to lazy to drop the pipes and support the swingarm inorder to complete the install. I took the east way out and installed the True Track which is a snap.
It's true that the True Track is very easy to install by comparison, but my Ride Str8 took about two hours to install including a trip the the HD shop to replace the unexplained broken pipe hanger mount. The exhaust doesn't need to be removed, just loosened enough to remove the bottom bolt on the swingarm bracket, and I'm not sure what you mean by "support the swingarm," as there is no need to do anything to the swingarm during this install.

It would be appropriate if people that were pushing someone's product on the forum would be up front enough to acknowledge their relationship to the seller of the product when they are giving their endorsement. I find it a little disingenuous that one individual can have dozens and dozens of posts relating to one particular item for sale and claim to have no other interest in the promotion other than the safety of other bikers.

Certainly the forum is designed for the dissemination of positive and negative information that is to benefit the members. However, it raises certain questions when this exact same pattern of behavior is duplicated on other forums in the exact same manner. That can't be just coincidence.

I'm not claiming that the product is bad or anything else. I don't own it or any competitors item either. I have no dog in the hunt. But, it certainly raises a question in my mind when the cheer-leading gets to the level that this has. It is endless and persistent. It is at this point shameless advertising disguised as testimonials. An infomercial at it's best. Ron Popeil would be proud!

If you are going to promote an item on the forum at least have the honesty to let others know that you have some interest in the product you are promoting. Please don't insult other people's intelligence by claiming you are just posting hundreds of posts because you are so in love with the product.

I am sure I'm going to take a lot of heat on this post. But, I'm willing to do so because I am a little exhausted at the turn this whole stabilizer thread(s) has been taking of late. I know I don't have to read them but the fact is I like to because I'm a biker, a forum member, and interested as the next guy in learning new things. But, just as a favor to us all why don't we chill out a bit on the constant you're a great guy I'm a great guy stuff. Give your testimonial, your experience, and let it go on from there.

Let's make a limit of like let's say 12 I'm a good guy you're a good guy testimonials per person per item.

Darren,

After reading a lot of the other threads on the subject, reading what was on each mfg's website and talking to those in my area running the various stabilizers, I opted to go with the True Trac. It has all eliminated the wobble, what I prefer to call pogoing in the fast sweepers. I do ride very hard at time, the edges of the floorboards and the bottom of the Boarzilla will bear that out. I have never touched down on the stabilizer arm of the True Trac. It does however eliminate the possibility of using a center stand as it does mount to the crossmember. I also have to position my jack just right - immediately in front of the dogbone to lift the bike level. I used to place the rear jack pad on the dogbone. The cost was acceptable, fit and finish good, and it works. It is a 15 minute install, not even requiring to jack the bike up off the ground.

I have approximately 15k miles on the bike since install and am satisfied. Is it better than the others - I don't know.

Again. A really great post and very timely, considering I am about to make the same purchase. This is one of the reasons I enjoy this forum...people sharing their experiences and knowledge so we can all benefit from it.

Since I may be the target of this reasonable observation, for which I take no offense, I confess that I am guilty of promoting certain products that I believe are worthy of consideration by others. These testimonials sometimes reflect great enthusiasm, and a few of these products I consider so good that repeated mention is warranted (e.g. Fuel Moto products) on this forum and others. I don't apologize for that and will continue the practice.

However, I proclaim that I have no financial intestest in any product sold by any manufacturer of motorcycle parts, or any other products for that matter. Further, I consider any promotion disguised as a testimonial that stems from a financial interest, and doing so without disclosure to be unethical.

Any of this look or sound familiar?

The Ride Str8 is compatible with the Wheeldock EZ-UP center stand.

I guess the subtlety of my posts is not getting through. LOL. I have NO bitch against any vendor who sells and promotes HIS stuff on any site whatsoever. I am a capitalist pig myself and proud to admit it. This is the USA last time I checked. I think it's great for a small business owner to be able to market HIS stuff to a target audience like the forum. I wish each and every one who does success. I would always purchase first from such a person and help support their business. In fact, I have been debating the purchase of a stabilizer myself.

IT'S NOT THE COMPANY (TWR) , IT'S NOT THE PRODUCT (stabilizer) , IT'S NOT THE OWNER (Tracy).

However, do you not find it unusual or just plain curious that one particular guy (not Tracy) is constantly involved in each and every single thread (which he seems to start) involving this company and product? Or, is it just me that has noticed this? I don't see any other person that has the volume of posts across multiple websites that this one person has regarding this one item. Wouldn't you call that going a little bit beyond just being happy with the product?

OK, enough said. I don't want this to get personal with anyone. If you don't get it, you don't get it. :-) If you don't mind being led by the nose that's cool (just an expression not meant as a personal insult). But, I don't appreciate being barraged by advertising, shilling, or whatever you want to call it while reading a thread, under the guise of it being a testimonial. Simple.
