Default Steering Head Lubrication

I am trying to do the steering head lubrication on my 08 SG. It states to grease until exudes from and bottom of steering head. I emptied 3/4 of the canister into the fitting, and still not seeing it exuding from bottom or head. How much does it take?

Thanks

I use heavy duty synthetic grease, and it does not drip on my fender, it stays the same consistency in all weather.

Keep going until you see it ooze out. Then put one of these on to keep it off your fender.

Mine works great.

I did the same thing. FInally went into the dealer and they brought out this portable unit, just shot it a few times and said, you're good to go. No cost. So I do that about once every 18 months.... Darren, if you've got a good wrench in the Dealership, it's a snap sometime when you're there to just have them fix you up. That 45 degree fitting is a pain to get to on mine.. Good luck, Craig

Did mine, and it's still exuding two months later. Reckon that's why they don't fill it at the factory?

Add a 40 or 90 zert, pump until it just comes out. After that just a pump or so during the service. I live in South Texas and it will ooze a little at first. Not too bad. On my 06 EG its a breeze to service, just turn the bars all the way and its there!
