Question Sundowner Seats

I have a 06 ultra classic, someone at the local stealers recommended a sundowner touring seat. Anybody have one and what's pro and con's?

My FXDXT had a sundowner, I have Alligator Bob put a pro pad on it and it was a great seat. I am going to do something about my stock FLHTC seat this winter.

Front part is a very good seat. Passenger section is lacking. (prior to 08 version)

If passengers are not a big priority, you cant do much better without spending quite a bit more money.

I have a Sundowner on a 2008 Street Glide. The passengers love it; I am still looking for something more comfortable. I’m trying an Airhawk that seems ok for the short (50-60 miles) but I’m not very happy with the position change.

I have the sundowner on my 08 SG. The wife loves it, I'm probably going to give it to Mean City to make my legs fit better when I stop.

Just remember when your reading the replies, that the 08-09 version of the Sundowner, has a MUCH larger passenger section than the 07-prior version. This person has an 06, and would have the version with the much smaller rear section on his seat, should he buy one.

My wife likes my 09 Sundowner. She could not ride for 30 miles on the 07 Sundowner.

I installed a Sundowner on my 08 RG and cut 1'' off the top and added 1'' memory foam. On recent trip from Fl to Wisconsin we did 600 mi day 1 and 778 mi the 2nd day. Coming home we did 450- 500 mi a day. I just ordered a new Mustang seat. My wife and I both agree the Sundowner is much better than the stock seat but not great for day trips that go past 350-400 mi. Especially if you do back to back days of long riding. After a trip or two on the new seat I'll let ya know.
