I took my panner off to do some work, it toppled and the lid flopped open onto the floor. Multiple scratches in my vivid black paint. They won't polish out and they are very visible. AAARRGGGHH!! There is no practical reason for this post, apart from seeking sypathy. I am either going to have to replace or respray as I can't ignore them but I just wanted to get it off my chest. Bugger!
Motorcycle panniers (often called saddlebags) may be metal containers with lids, hard plastic, leather or fabric. The panniers may be permanently fixed to the motorcycle or may be removable. BMW has a unique hard-sided expandable pannier system.

Have you tried scratch/swirl remover? That should take care of it most of the time... Unless the scratch is all the way through the paint. Then your right, your screwed...
Another thought, You could purchase leather lid covers. While that doesn't remove the scratches, it would at least cover them up till you got the money together to get them repainted.

You'd better be sitting down if you check the prices on those BMW panniers. BMW's accessory and clothing prices make it look like H-D is giving their stuff away!
