I haven't had them but have heard the warnings both for the same problem which is after they'er a year old the mounting brackets break. One guy said he even bought a second pair thinking it was a limited flaw because he liked the sound but those broke to & Samson wouldn't make good on it. After hearing these warnings I never wanted to buy any.

if, for any reason a Samson bracket breaks it is replaced right away. i think many of you need to rethink Samson. we have the best customer service in the business and all our new products are the best quality you can buy. please give us a call so we may help you.
thank you,
JR
The Samson Oval's were on my 99RKC when I bought it. They sound good and still look good when I keep the dirt off of them. The only fault I have with them is you can't remove the baffels for replacement or repacking. Have not dealt with there customer service which judging from the posts I have read I am very thankful.
I put Samson True Duals on my StreetGlide this summer. Had to modify the starter bracket to get the left side pipe to fit. After installation, right side leaked like a SOB. After taking it off and putting it back on several times, I finally saw the small hole where the weld WAS NOT COMPLETED (**** poor quality control). So, I had to weld up the hole and reinstall. Pipes look and sound great but were a bit of a hassle to deal with on the install. My guess is you would not have those same problems with Bassani or Vance and Hines. My 2c.
Comment added in edit: You should ask RocknRod what he thinks of Samson.
the issue is with the bracket coming off the starter. it is in the way and must be removed before installing our pipes. that bracket is the cause of breakage on other systems so it is not needed.
thank you,
JR
Ive two sets of samson pipes, samson rolled thunder ovals, were on the bike when I bought them. I then switched to a used set of fish tails bought here, both slip-on's only. stock headers. Never had an issue with either, so never had to deal with cust serv.
I've had two sets of Sampson slip-ons over the last 10 years or so...now while the 1st set went trouble-free (M-135's) over most of the 10 years, the set I recently put on my 2010 LTD yellowed badly, probably due to the cat.
While I had no problems buying the 1 yellowed (right-side) pipe, Sampson refused to sell me "just 1" instead wanting me to buy a pair at full list!! There was only 1 CS person for the company and she wasn't very helpful and would not return any of my phone calls...I always had to call her back.
Sampson in my opinion is not looking after their customer base, so needless to say my next set of pipes won't be Sampsons...anything but!!

discoloration is a fault of too much heat, not from faulty workmanship or quality. some people do make mistakes and if you were to call today we would certainly sell you the single muffler as you wanted. we apologize for the miscommunication. 888-5-SAMSON
thank you,

Well WELL WELL if it isnt JR ...Guys I been dealing with this guy .I have a Heritage Softail .They WAS a brand new set of Samson Fishtails on it..They blued and yellowed within 800 miles. When i talked to customer service it was JR that i was dealing with.He told me that if I would have he dealer call they would take care of the problem.....The dealer called and SAMSON said NO we are not honoring the warranty.Just like 95% of this forum has said STAY AWAY FROM SAMSON...All of this with my bike took place MAY 2010 and ...JR starts to be a SMART A&& through emails.I will post all my emails back and forth with JR and you will see exactly what kind of customer service they have... SAMSON MUFFLERS ARE JUNK....Go with VANCE AND HINES...SAMSON WILL NOT HONOR NOTHING ..ONCE YOU BUY THEM ...THEY DONT KNOW YOU...... I am so glad I saved all your emails JR...Dont forget to introduce yourself me to me at STURGIS...... Hope this helps everyone not to make a Mistake...I wish I knew who to contact at Samson to forward your emails to ..Every Body Ride Hard....
because my bike has a chinese tune the right Samson turned gold too. Pipes lean the engine and that turns pipes to differant color, if you look under the heat shield mine are blue from the chinese tune(Waylean). I like there sound but i do need to do some proper jetting, just lazy. Don over and out>>>>
Here is what SAMSON pipes do in 800 miles. Its your choice to Buy or NOT .. Like I said Previous there customer service is NO help.Read this entire Forum and then you will understand..The one pic you can see the Chrome Bubbled ..Awful.......
