I say quit riding. That should lower your oil bill substantially... I was going to offer to sell it to you at my cost, but the gouging comment took that off the table. Sorry, I'm not taking a loss on my cost so everybody else can feel good.
QUIT RIDING?? (I don't think so) Ha Ha Very funny!
I'm not looking for hand outs or favors, I make a good living and can afford the oil but you are really missing the point. A $21 increase from my last oil change 4 months ago is ludicrous! If you can't see that then shame on you.
If you don't think that is gouging compared to my last purchase then I have some swamp land I would like to sell you.
WTF does the price of oil have to do with the price of synthetic oil????
I saw a thing on discovery channel about makeing Syn oils. They said the modern syn oils are made from Natural Gas, not dino oil. Natural gas prices do tend to track oil prices.

Seems to be you are the one missing the point. Do you cry "price gouging" everytime something increases in price? Milk is about $4 a gallon now. Damn greedy cows. Perhaps the oil you bought from your dealer was stock he had on hand before the price went up. Lots of things have happened in four months...
If, as all the "experts" here claim, synthetic oil is not derived from base crude oils (which it is), why would Ams have any reason to raise their prices except to cover transportation costs? They could sell this fake lab oil way cheaper than regular dino or syn blend oil and make a killing. Simple supply and demand. If you want to sell less, raise your prices - if you want to sell more, lower your prices. But then, they would just be greedy again when they had good profits. Might dust off your old ECON 101 book and do some reading about price gouging in a free economy.

Same thing that it has to do with the price of Wheaties. It takes oil to move just about anything. Take those Wheaties: Diesel tractor to plow/plant/harvest, diesel or electric pump to irrigate, diesel to truck the wheat to the silo, electricity to load it into a railroad car, where a diesel engine pulls it to the cereal plant, where more electric equipment and gas-fired equipment produces Wheaties. Those Wheaties are packaged in a plastic (oil) bag and placed in a cardboard box by electric machinery. (Don't forget that the plastic bag and the cardboard box were produced somewhere else using a variety of electric and diesel equipment.) The boxes of Wheaties are loaded onto trucks and sent to distribution centers, offloaded (usually propane forklifts at both ends) and then reloaded on trucks to get to the market.
All along the way, oil and electricity were used. You'd be hard pressed to name 10 items you've bought in the last year that haven't used oil somewhere in their production. Heck, you might not be able to name one product in 10 years!
Hmm why don't they use Amsoil in their delivery trucks and keep that cost down? Break down the wheaties into fuel. Done deal... cheaper oil for your bikes...
Never seen wheaties and Amsoil come out of the same delivery truck unless it was leaking?
