I don't understand why people are so passionate about the brand or type of oil that they use. From my experience engine problems caused by failed motor oil are extremely rare. Most engine problems are result of poor maintanence practices. I've got 70,000 miles on my bike and it still runs great. It doesn't smoke and the compression is good, I'll rebuild it when that changes.

exactly.. It's the lack of oil that kills an engine....
I called my local Aimsoil distributor the other day and asked for 4 QTS. He said come on over and pick it up and the cost will be $52 including tax and shipping. I said WTF my last order for 4 qts only cost me $31.
I think I am going back to the old fashioned DINO. The engine will run quieter anyhow.
Anyone paying that price for their Amsoil?
Local HD dealer is getting $9.95 a quart,Aimsoil 20-50.
$52 is a screwing.
Maybe I'm missing the point here. I ride a 20,000 motorcycle, drive a 45,000 truck, and my wife drives a 35,000 station wagon. Am I really supposed to get upset over paying a little bit more for a few oil changes every year? Maybe it's just me but I have bigger things to worry about. If you're not happy with the price you are paying, go somewhere else and try to get it cheaper. If you are like me, I fully expect people/businesses to make a profit on things they sell me. If I think they are ripping me off, I'll spend my dollars elsewhere. Sorry but I don't get what you're so upset over.

And there you have it. This should have been the point of the entire post. Maybe Ams is getting too expensive. What are some good alternatives you all have used? Instead it turns into a bitch session about "gouging". I use it because I like it. If the price gets to a point that I can get more "utility" from a different brand, that's what I'll do.
Why not just skip the dealer all together? Unless he is beating the preferred customer price + tax + ship, what's the point? Order a case or two and split it with your friends. Should be able to get a case for a little under $10.00 per qt. shipped.
