This thread is a never-ending one, on the Sportster.org site the is a detailed oil analysis done by a member ----at his own cost---

Just bought 7 qts of Amsoil from my local dealer, it was $90 total with tax and title. A little high, but inexpensive compared to the cost my my Ultra. Only the best for my "baby".
Well, after reading what the rest of you folks are paying...I think I'll just stick with my Amsoil connection. Last week, I bought a case (12 qts.) for $81.20 delivered. Now, that includes the $11.84 freight and the $4.68 CA tax. Got the receipt right in front of me. Guess I got a good deal, huh? Oh, and that also includes .48 cents for some Recycl/Lubricating/Environ/Fee.
Maybe this isn't the same oil that you guys are running in your bikes. This is Amsoil Synthetic XL 10w30 that I bought for the Civic. Must be a lower grade synthetic, or something. I'm running Redline in the bike right now.
Maybe I'm missing the point here. If I think they are ripping me off, I'll spend my dollars elsewhere. Sorry but I don't get what you're so upset over.
Who says I'm upset? I'm saying what you have said. I will spend my dollars elsewhere with another brand. I'm for free enterprise and understand price increases but a $21 increase over a couple of months for a few quarts of oil is what I consider a rip-off.
Do you think an 80% increase if fair or justified? I don't.
And there you have it. This should have been the point of the entire post. Maybe Ams is getting too expensive. What are some good alternatives you all have used? Instead it turns into a bitch session about "gouging". I use it because I like it. If the price gets to a point that I can get more "utility" from a different brand, that's what I'll do.
I'm probably going to get jumped on for making this observation, but, isn't this Amsoil stuff pretty much distributed and sold like Amway? In a "pyramid-type" deal?
