Would be nice to be able to just set up a playlist and not have to look at the Ipod.
I set my iPod up with nothing but playlists. I make the playlists up in iTunes and just transfer them, that way I don't have to search for anything. Just let it play! I assume some of the bar controls will work with the iPod, but I also assume some will not. Probably will have to use the reciever for some other things. I won't hold my breath for full control. I'm happy that it's just charging and playing.

I'm still debating whether to do it or have someone else handle it. It's just nice to drop it off and pick it up all nice and finished, ready to ride. If I do have someone do it, I'll make sure and ask what color wires went where. I looked at that PAC piece and there are alot of different color wires that need to be hooked to specific wires on the controls.

With the Biketronics kit, one side of their module simply plugs into the factory harness (no need to look for a power source for the head unit as the factory harness provides the power). The other side of the module is wired to your Sony head unit harness via seven colored wires. This is a simple black to black, white to white, yellow to yellow, etc procedure. I suspect that your PAC module is similarly color-coded (or should be).

Here's the wiring diagram from PAC's website:

http://www.pac-audio.com/bulletins/h...ram%2098up.pdf

IIRC, Crutchfield's price for the PAC interface is $75; considerably less than a Biketronics or Hawg-wired interface. But there are wires to cut and resistors to install with the PAC module which may not be for everyone, compared to the plug and play of the others. But PAC does support headunits not supported by Biketronics or Hawg-wired.

And Biketronics is the only one with Automatic Volume Control.
