Few questions if you don't mind;

How do you like the sound?

How does the passenger like the sound?

How much better is the Base ?

What setting did you use for the rear volume, I read that use can set it as one, two, or three.

To answer your questions . . .

The sound is better than stock for sure. Great sound up to 50 mph. At freeway speeds it is just OK. 7 out of 10 overall.

The bass is much better.

I set the amp output at 3. This is not for the rear speakers. It is for the front. Maybe I'm wrong on this. I don't know how to adjust the rear for more output. if there is a way, please let me know. Anyone????

For the money and ease of install, the Hogtunes setup is a bvery good investment. There are better systems out there but they cost much more. I did the research and decided on the HT because I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg . . . just an arm.

According to the instructions I copied below it is used to balance the speakers, so my understanding would be to set it to a lower number to increase the volume to the rear speakers. In other words this is the fade.

"Step #8: On the clutch side of the amplifier is the amp level. Adjusting the
amp level sets the “balance” between front and rear speakers. It is recommended that you start with the level at “0” and turn up (+3)or down (-3) if desired."

It basically sets the output of the front speakers to one of 3 relative volume levels. So yea, in that sense, its kind of a static fader adjustment. I left mine on what it came set to, and the balance is just about PERFECT. I don't hear music coming from either in front, or in back, I just hear it all around me.

Ok, heres a video I made, to show the sound of my Monster Oval mufflers. But you can kind of get a sense of the VOLUME of the Hogtunes Ultrasound, and somewhat a sense of the clarity.

*****HUGE DISCLAIMER*******

I will tell you right now that this clip DOES NOT do justice to the QUALITY of the sound, as it was of course recorded by the crappy little mic on my camcorder, which was basically resting on my shoulder. And since the camcorder was facing forward, your hearing more of the fronts than the rear speakers.

You can get a sense of how LOUD they are, an FAIR sense of how CLEAR they are, but the clip does make it sound like they lack Bass and tonal quality. That is NOT the case in real life, its just the limitations of my camcorders cheap microphone.

FYI, I had them about 3/4 of the way of full volume, and and I had to almost shout to be heard above them. I believe the fastest I was going when the tunes were on, was 65 mph. (I turn the music on and off a few times during the clip)

Again, Judge VOLUME and (somewhat) CLARITY only, BUT NOT TONAL QUALITY from this clip.
