I would certainly buy a manual, this will not be the only question you will have that the answer is in that book.
Per my second post on this thread "I have ordered a manual thru my dealer"
but we are going on a trip and the manual is not in yet so I needed some help.
With you guys help I was able to find the problem and all is well. Thank you very much!!
I posted this in another post, I copied it and will also paste it here.

I am posting this to maybe help someone out if this ever happens to them!
I have had a rather perplexing problem with my 08 SG. The bike would run fine while on the road, but if I started it up on the side stand it would start right up and then the battery light, engine light, security key light and the ABS light would light up solid and stay on.
I finally figured it out. It had to do with the handle bars being turned full left was causing the problem. Turn them straight or to the right and all was well.
I took the outer fairing off and found one of the bundles of wires was up against the sharp corner on the Heat Sink on the HK radio. It had worn a small hole through the protective sheath and was into one of the wires inside and was grounding out. I put a piece of shrink tubing on the wire, moved them away from the sharp corner and all is fixed.
If I would just climb on and center the bars and start off it was fine. I had it in my head that something was wrong with the ECM because it would not happen all the time.
This took me a while to figure out what was going on. I hope this helps someone else out.
Was anyone ever inside your fairing before you? By rights any harness in there should have enough free play that they dont move when the bars are turned lock to lock. Even if they do move a c-hair, they should be clear of any sharp edges (well you found that out).
I am just curious though......were you the first person to open the fairing, or was someone else like a tech at a dealer in there to install something?
I far as I know I am the first to open it. I bought it new off the show-room floor. It may have happened at the MoCo.. the wires were all wire tied and didn't look like anyone had been it there.
The bundle of wires was just barely moving when turned full left, but it was right on that real sharp corner. So every time it was put on the side stand and went full left it rubbed, till it went through and grounded.
The way I have it now it doesn't move at all and is away from the Heat Sink corner.
