I've had my Battery out of my 05 Ultra for several months. I did put it on a Battery Tender.
I've installed K&N and T-Rex True Duals. I have the SERT although I'm unsure which map to select before I take it to the dealer.
My first concern is in returning the battery back to the Ultra which has a Security System. Am I going to have any new issues to deal with or will it be like I've never had the battery out?
Also any advice on how to set up and apply a preliminary SERT (probably put 300-400 miles on before getting to the dealer) would be appreciated.
check out my post on the HD Chat forum....look on the left side of your bike and see if you inj # ends in -06A...thats a 25lb inj...if you aint got an "A"...use a map for a 1550 Stage II with touring exhaust and SE air & 8lb inj....mine has 25lb inj and i used #57... 141NS002 ... theres one acoupla pages up for an 8lb
mine is an 06...there is also a map for an 05 with the same mods, i'd probly use that
Zugaugh, my dealer use that map for my 05 Ultra with the Stage 1 and exhaust, they then tweeked out another 4HP and 7 ft. lbs. of torque on the Dyno. I installed the parts and SERT and rode around with that map for like 1500 miles before the Dyno was done.
It's is hard to install this SERT? I haven't found the connector on my Ultra but I assume it's around the fuse cover. I'm thinking I'll move my desktop into the garage and try to load it after I finish putting my fairings and tank back on.
I've ordered a Security II siren and pager. But I think I want to get it up and running before I try to do something that might cause a problem. I may need to read about the Security System since I've had my battery disconnected for several months. That may require some sort of reset.
Anyway, after I get the engine started I'll try to load that SERT. Can't wait to really hear the new pipes :=]
