Bunch of stuff comes to mind....do you check tire pressures regularly? Could be a cupping tire (for starters)

Dont know where you are,but out here they cut rain grooves in the frwy, My Ultra "Dances" back at forth in these grooves. On previous bikes I founf that changing tires to Avon Venoms eliminated this issue.

is it a wobble or could it be air buffeting on the windshield? buffeting can make ya pretty uneasy at times.

When i was in daytona at Bike week I test drove some harley's. One of the guy's in line told me that road king's had a wobble at 80 to 85 and that you would get used to it. It must not happen on all of them because i have asked some road king owners about it and they tell me no wobble.

My Roadking doesn't wobble. Check your spoke tension.

I was just talking about this with a friend of mine today. I got my 99 RKC several months ago (first RK) and rode it to Bike Week in Daytona a couple of weeks ago. This was my first long trip on the RKC and I found that I had a wobble around 80 mph and mostly while in a slight turn in either direction. It was a little un-nerving while going that speed and had me a little worried. I have about 28000 miles on the bike and have just had the 25000 mile service done about 1 month ago where I had the mechanic check absolutely everything. I also had new HD / Dunlop white walls installed at the same time. I've double checked the tire pressure, fork pressure, and made sure the head bearings weren't notched or too tight.

I did read another forum talking about the touring frame and that there are several riders who have had accidents because of high-speed wobbles due to lack of stiffness in the frames and have filed suit againist HD claiming that caused the accident. I don't know if this is the case, but I am going to make darn sure I get mine as stable as possible before the next long ride.

One thing I think I am going to add to the bike is a fork brace. I have heard that will greatly stablize the bike in a turn. I am also going to get another HD mechanic to double check the tightness of the head bearing. I know that there are several companies that make a steering dampener and I may look into that. I have owned many bikes over the years, some sport-touring and some cruisers but I have never experienced anything like this.

On a different note, if your bags were packed when you experienced the wobble, you may want to even the load on both sides of the bike. A buddy of mine on his Heritage Classic had a wobble while on a trip 3 years ago, and it was because he had about 20 pounds in one bag and 8 in the other. Once he evened up the load, it stopped. Mine was not loaded when I first experienced the wobble so I know that was not it.

Anyway, that's my 2 pennies.

That just may be Homer, I live out here in California and some of the freeways (most) have rain groves.
Thank guy's for your input.
