In MD, you cannot have handlebars MORE THAN 15 inches above the "part of the seat occupied by the operator." $65 fine, No points.

A friend of mine has an old shovel with a suicide shifter and apes above his head. In all the times we've ridden together, he's never been stopped for it.

i don't know the exact measurements but they were above his shoulders like so many you see.

i've often wondered why when stopped the bike didn't just pull his bars back toward him to lower the height until the cop left and move them back.
