Bought a SG at the same time my buddy did. He addes SE slippons only. I added SE slipons, SERT and air cleaner. Went for a quick ride the other day, I had 150 miles on mine, he had 25. His pipes were already discoloring after just a few short miles. It was about 40 degrees here. My only guess is that his is running so lean and hot that the pipes discolored already while mine w/the SERT is running a bit richer.
Whatever the reason, it was pretty interesting that one did and one didn't only difference being the few different boltons.
November injectors here, no problems and up to about 1400 miles. Really not convinced that the injectors are the ONLY issue with bikes that are running hot or lean. My O5 popped and backfired like a mexican jumping bean in a paper bag, after changing the pipes A/C and got the famous HD Download. [sm=badidea.gif]
I agree. He only did pipes, but it's gotta be running lean to turn the pipes that soon. Mine is actually fat , I already know this cause I've got some soot buildup already on the ends of the pipes..more than I'd like to see anyways. A dyno will fix that up in a few more miles though.

I agree, they can be made to work well with tuning on a stock motor, it's all in the tune.
I was able to see a notice-able difference in oil temp after my injectors where changed. Rode to the dealer and oil was running 219 and it was 40 degrees outside. After they changed the injectors, rode same conditions and 40 degrees outside, oil temp was 189. Bike goes back in to be put on the Dyno tomorrow right after the first service.
I ran just the slipons for a month on my bike and I got alot of backfiring and popping on deceleration.
We didn't ride for a long time, but I did hear one pop from him on decel...It'll be interesting to see how it runs this weekend when we go out for the day. Glad it's not mine having the problem though!
