I done it after dropping my keys down the tank. Luckily it didn't leave a mark.

Just an FYI, A Bic Stik pen will also open the stock lock in a pinch. Remove the color cap from the non-writing end and use the pen as a key.

Stupid idea really. If I would ever leave my bike in a situation where the gas can be stolen, losing some gas would be the least of my worries.

I added the Willie G Skull Fuel door and added the keyless lock.

I kept the stock keyed gas lock and door together and put the keyless lock on the new Willie G gas door.

On my wife's 08 I did this mod and it was really hard to push the button and opened. Take a dremel and grinding stone. Stick it in the sloth the latch goes in and grind upwards to make the slot taller. It takes some pressure off. The lid latches tight and my wife can push with her finger nail and it will open.
