Default Am I Getting REAMED?

I just went to my local dealer to get a price for a Dunlop D402 white wall rear tire installed on my 2007 RKC.
I was quoted $320.00 + tax which would bring it to about $350.00 out the door. Am I being taken or is that roughly the going price?

My dealer quoted me $350.
I got a back tire, installed by an indy for $268.63.

WOW! I paid $145.00 for a D402 blackwall installed on the rear this summer at the dealer. I know the blackwall is $15 to $20 bucks cheaper than the whitewall. I just hate cleaning the whitewalls so I went with the blackwall. Will get the blackwall on the front too when it's ready.

Get a lift and take the wheel off and take it in. You'll save a lot of money this way. This is what I do. Dealer prices for tires with installation and all are rediculous. Take it to an indy to buy the tire and have it mounted and balanced as well. Definetely less expensive.

Yes, that's high...but you are in California. It should not cost more than 200 bucks for a rear tire installed. I was in your town not too long ago. My BIL lives there...right down the street from Bob Mazzolini's shop. If you like badass mopars, check out his shop. He has built and builds wicked motors for many very quick drag cars. He has a wall of pictures behind his desk of a bunch of them.

I just had front and rear d402's installed on my ultra 440.00. Had it done at the dealer with state inspection.

I'd say yes!
Like Anunisss say's take the wheel off the bike yourself and take it in.
Spent $250 for a Dunlop this summer at the dealer. Took me all of 30 minutes to take the wheel off and put it back on. Even less the second time - when I had this clinking sound in the wheel. Pulled it off and there IS a couple pieces of casting slag in the hollow hub section that are too big to fall through the openings. Left them in. I guess centrifugal force solved the problem?
I still think tires are probably the biggest reaming you can get on a regular basis from the industry!

Also order from the internet for the tires for better prices, but a lot of palces will charge extra to put them on if you don't buy the tires from them...
www.americanmototire.com has good prices.

+1 on the indie advice. And some even do a safety check while they're at it, mine does.
