I have the wild one 575's mounted on my 07, and they are very comfortable. Only drawback is they block the mirrors when my hands are one the grips. You could pull them back more but that would feel weird to me. The openings in the bars are great for wiring access and you should know that you'll also need longer cables and a wiring extension with the 575's.

This is the older 08 and below pullback bar. The new one they just put out is supposed to be not as narrow.

ALSO... I have already changed the bars on my 09 Ultra with ABS. There is nothing special about the 09 with ABS but be prepared to spend some cash on an upper brake line.

This is the best post I've seen! Got a great picture of what to expect! Thank you! Me thinks I'm going for the HD pullbacks.

Good post, lp. Best photo I've seen showing the bars together. Looks to me like the HD pullback bar and stock bar have about the same wrist angle, although it's probably accented with the pullback.

Tater! The 575 and the stock have a near identical angle. The HD pullbacks are the ones that get really narrow but come way far back too. I felt they were way too narrow. Maybe I have wide shoulders...

Anyway, unlike you may have heard above, you do not need to extend the wires. A +4 clutch helps though...

Good luck.

Lp, it looks like the pullback bars are coming back more than 2" from the OEM, or is that an optical illusion? How much do the WO575's come back from the OEM?

The bars are different heights. What you are seeing is a top down view showing the bar angles only. The 575's are taller, so when you roll them back towards you they come back 2 inches further than the stock bars. The HD pullbacks do come back even further if that is what you are asking. Too bad they are super narrow and hurt my wrists.

I'd like to try the new 09 Pullback. Have not heard much about those yet other than they are not cheap like the old ones.

Hope that helps...

I have the HD Pullback bars on my '08 Standard w/abs. The 575's were too wide for me and the wrist angle of the HD bars has not proved to be a problem for me. I had a local machinist modify the bars to accept the TBW grip, added a +4 clutch cable so it could run though the fairing. Didn't need a new brake line or the tbw sensor. My dealer charged 2 hours labor qt $51/hour. By far the best mod I have done, I love these bars.

That's a great post, LP. Really shows the difference between the bars. Thanks! Here's a pic I made from when I added the old style HD pullbacks to my bike vs the stock bars (2000 FLHTC). The one in front is the stock bar. The one behind is the touring bar (the bar ends are closest to the top of the page).

If you extended your wiring what guage is the wiring? I'm guessing 20 ga. I've looked at the extension kits for sale on the internet. Seems like alot of $'s for $5 worth of wire and fewer dollars worth of solder.

Any info you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Longer clutch cable and brake lines, but stock length on the throttle calbles.

No need to extend the wiring.
