I rarely drink but I have had a beer at a few bike nights. No more than that. And I am usually there long enough after that it isn't even an issue. I used to ride with some guys that would slam down 3 or 4 and then hop on their bikes. As you can see I said used to. Funny I have passed a local bike night on my way home from work and you can usually tell the ones who should not be riding. Driving like a bat out of hell out of the parking lot and taking stupid chances.
It's your life. Do with it what you like. But don't take anyone else out just for the sake of catching a buzz.
I rarely ever drink also but on the few occasions I do its not when I am going to be driving or riding.I also have never seen anyone that does drink that can't handle it (if you know what I mean) .Drinking and driving any type of vehicle has no justifcation.I have seen too many innocent people killed and mamed by the guy who could handle it in my long lifetime.I know a lot won't agree but thats ok.We are all entiteled to our own opinion.Yall ride safe ya hear
Nothing wrong with a drink or 2 with food over a hour or 2 but if you think you ride better with a few maybe you shouldnt ride.JMH. Sorry. After a few with friends I ride like its the first time on a bike Better safe than sorry.

If you look again at my original post you will see the... That means I was being Sarcastic about riding better.
Every person is different and they metabolize alcohol differently. My dad can drink a 6 pack and still function like he's sober. (He's also 54 been drinking since he was 18.) However, I can drink 4 and I want to call a cab.
I have gone up to the Iron Horse during Bike Week and had a beer or two while walking around, but this also while I am eating pizza, a sausage, pretzel... etc etc... by the time I have walked around, the alcohol has metabolized down. It's a judgement call....
Also, something else to consider. In Florida, if you have a regular Class E operator's license, your legal limit is .08. If you have any form of CDL (D through A) your limit is cut in half to .04. So if you have a CDL, check your state laws and see what they say.
In the end you risk a lot for one or two drinks......
Anyone who drinks and drives is a DUMBAZZ!!! Don't put me or others at risk because of your STUPIDITY and SELFISHNESS!!! I have been hit by a drunk driver and my best friend was killed by this selfish act, DON'T do it. You only have to be impaired to SLIGHTEST degree for a DUI conviction, not the 0.08 BAC as many believe. Impaired is the key word.
