Use your head. I will occasionally have A beer at a meal with the bike in the lot. I would never have more than one because I know my limit. I also don't chug and then get right on the bike. Time goes by. I am not against responsible behavior and I don't think anyone needs to militant regarding a beer. I just have never understood the bar hopping way of life on a bike.
Alcohol/Motorcycles don't mix and Alcohol/Guns don't mix. Doesn't matter how long you been riding or how tough you think you are.
I disagree. More specific being a drunk on a motorcycle or having a gun don't mix. Being a responsible person who has a beer or 2 with a meal over a couple hours is far from being a horrible thing or unacceptable.
In my 20's and 30's I whooped it up and drank to my hearts content all the time, especially while riding my motorcycle. Never got a DUI or remotely got close to even causing an accident. And it wasn't luck either. At 52 now I don't need the shiet from the political correct paranoid sbag crowd and I have too much to lose fighting the system who has an endless supply of cash.
However on my 12 acre spread I enjoy sitting in the back 40 with my 6 pack, 100 yard target and spotting scope while wasting a box or 2 of shells and the 6 pack.
I never drink and ride. I love my beer, but would rather drink some where were I can relax and enjoy it. Preferably at home in the backyard while grilling some animal flesh. Just not worth it if you ask me.
To each their own, but I've never felt like riding and drinking any amount was a good idea. Things are dangerous enough out there for us stone cold sober, why increase the risk.
it ain't worth the risk for me, i would be fired from my job right away. plus i think even one will affect your judgment. just my 2 cents here, be responsible.
+1... If you want to hurt yourself, your choice. I love my homebrewed beer and single malt scotch, but I love riding more and will never mix the two!
Bluesssman I hear you on the single malt scotch. Heck these other guys are such lightweights with the one or two beers c'mon.....you need to wash a few percodans down THEN go for a ride but ONLY ater doing the calculations.
240lbs/1.2 hours X 6 riders stagered formation / one of the guys is a novice knucklehead rider but only had 1/2 a beer X my other buddy thats pissed at his wife so...............
Yep I agree, drinking and riding does not go well.
