tea-totalers are the same people that say "don't let that boy have a B B gun "He'll shoot his EYE out!"
I still say one or two beers will keep you out of trouble.
I think the original post was concerned about small amounts of beer/alcohol consumption. They were not talking about getting blasted and falling down
plastered.
There are legal limits.......use'em or loose them!

I'd say you're wrong. I'm a "tea-totaler" and bought my grandson a 20 guage on my way home from the hospital the day he was born.
Those that say a couple is cool are the same ones my wife busts on a daily basis
Life is full of risks. We all have to choose what is an acceptable risk and what is not. Be legal, be safe and be smart.
I will not be sitting in a rocking chair when I am 90 years old and wishing I would've had a little fun when I was younger.
I have saw the results of drunken driving and riding. I DO NOT condone that, but I have to have some balance. Drinking heavily or not drinking at all are opposite extremes and I will not be a part of either.

I'm Irish, so I'm faaaaar from a tea-tottler. I am a member of the NRA and have several weapons in my home. I'm asking for a Barret's model 82 for our 20th Wedding Anniversary next November. My 2 year old son will learn to shoot and be responsible with firearms when he is older. 1 or 2 beers is just enough to make you THINK you're OK, and still be enough to hurt you or others bad.
I don't drink and ride. I have a few friends that do. Like others here a couple every hour or two. I think they would be under the legal limit. I'm OK with that but what burns my *** are the bar hopers on bike's and even worst are the ones with a loved one on the back.
What a bunch 'o pussies here. Boo hoo if I have one or 2 beers I'll kill somebody. Thats bull. Sincere sympathies and condolences to those who have been impacted by serious drinking and driving. We have all been impacted by it with tighter laws and legislation in the attempts to control peoples choices. It doesn't deter drunks from driving. Never will any laws or legislation have 100% control over morality or peoples ability to chose for themselves. Hence the word moderation and knowing ones tolerances. What most of the posters here seem to be doing is throwing conventional wisdom, voice of reason and moderation right out the window. I think a poster who stated that being drop dead drunk and NOT in control of ones actions is far from having 1-2 beers over a period of time and with a meal, is not unreasonable.
If you are in any way altered by 1-2 beers under those conditions you should totally stay away from alcohol.
A year ago 2 brothers left a local bar. Each supposedly had only 2 beers. On the way home one brother misjudged his distance to the other while riding and accidentally bumped him. The brother that was bumped went into a tree and was killed. Whether or not alcohol was to blame, the question is was it worth the gamble?
I do not drink at all when I am riding my bike, if I am driving my car I may drink half a beer and then I will still wait about an hour after before driving. Remember, Alcohol is a drug and any drug will alter something in your body. For those of you who say you ride or drive better with a beer then think about this, after a beer or two in a bar or club dont you feel better about asking a lady to dance!!!! or when that same womans husband comes around to correct you and he is a brick wall and your a little skinny runt (but full of beer muscle) do you not feel like you are 10 feet tall and can kick ***? of course your going to feel like you can do things better, again, alcohol is a drug and drugs make you feel invincible!
