Is it just the hubs? Can you swap the hubs out to make it work? It seems like they only make ugly or 16" wheels for the FLH's. I really like the Thunderstar and the Reactor, but it's for Soft tails and V-rods. Anyone know?
Different offsets required for the brake rotor or belt alignment. Some bikes are also susceptible to "wobble" if the front ends are modified (i.e.: fairing on a Heritage); changing the wheel diameter changes front end dynamics. Should be aftermarkets available in recommended size?
Spend some time at a swap meet or some of the local indy shops and do some measuring of wheel widths and you might be surprised . There are different shimes and spacers to make lots of different wheels work . I have a 86 fxr with a 74 rear wheel and a 91 front whell and those just happenend to bolt right up . Even the after market does not build for each bike you have find the right combo of spacers and shimes sometimes . The hot deal lately for baggers is a 21" front wheel , the same that could work on a dyna or softail . If you go aftermarket go 17" and 18"and run radials too.

If you do your homework and are able to "customize", you can make almost anything work. On my old shovel, I run a new style RK wheel on the front and a Heritage rear. I had to find a sprocket with the right offset and manufacture all new spacers for the rear, the front was easier, just needed to make spacers, everything else was a direct bolt on. Just depends on how much effort you want to put into it, otherwise I would look at aftermarket, lots of options there.
Yea, I hear what you guys are saying. I guess I was kinda hoping that someone had done it. The beauty of metal is that anything can fit with enough hammering, welding, or drilling! I think I like the 18 up front better than the 21, but I go back and forth everyday. I wonder what the chances are of my dealer knowing....
I am astounded by some of the questions asked. Or maybe it's just the way they are phrased. Why won't Harley wheels fit differnt models?
Well gee, why don't the wheels off my Chevy 1 ton fit my Malibou?? And I can't get the wheels from a Louisville Cab Ford to fit on an Escort either.
What are these MOCO's thinking ???

And I'm amazed at how cynical and critical folks can be regarding a simple question. The guy just wondered why...No biggee, if you don't like the question, simply move on to the next one. No need to bash.

I asked how to make it work *******. Your analogy sucks. You are using a one ton vs a passenger car and a truck vs a front wheel drive. Now, if I said why won't the wheels from my wife's Vespa fit the hog, ok, you have a point. To put it in your terms I asked what it would take to fit Camaro wheels to your Malibu. The FLS's and the FLH's aren't that different. It shouldn't take much to do the swap, I don't like to reinvent the wheel, pun intended, so I asked a forum of probably thousands of riders if anyone knew how to do it. Some guys don't think custom is bolting a chrome cover on something, some see something they like on another bike and wonder how to fit it to theirs. Keep your jack *** responses to yourself. If you don't know or don't have something to add, just keep surfing.
